Fish and Chips!

Don't worry, I havn't suddenly gone mad and started cooking that rare and elusive food called 'sav oury food', I'd never write about such offensive items. Why eat savoury foods when there are so many delicious sweet items to be consumed?! Savoury foods just get in the way and fill up precious shelf space where more cakes could be...
So yes! Do not fear, for of course I have not simply cooked some fish and chips, I have simply cooked cake and biscuits and shaped them in such a cunning way as to appear as Fish and Chips! So now you may sit along those strange people who eat their dinner safe in the knowledge that whilst you appear to be tucking into a wholesome plate of fish and chips, you are in fact enjoying a much more satisfactory plate of biscuit 'chips', cakey 'fish' and buttercream 'ketchup'.

My diet? Replace all savoury foods with delicious cakes and biscuits, good for the soul, not so good for that bikini body...but then that's why I'm more of a wrap myself up in a huge blanket winter kinda gal :D Besides who ever really enjoyed a lettuce leaf and asked for seconds?!

(This post is dedicated to my long standing/suffering friend Alana Schleinitz who forced me to dedicate a post to her...I hope she knows this is in place of a Birthday present...)

The Baked Bean Cake

I know what you're thinking...'Wow! I wish I'd thought of making a cake out of baked beans!' and quite frankly, if you are thinking that, then you've gone too far into the realm of complete weirdness and 'things that should never be contemplated let alone done' that I fear for your health...

For dear readers, I have not actually done the unthinkable and constructed a cake from baked beans (don't cry...I may one day, stranger things have happened...) I have in fact baked a cake IN a baked bean can!

Why do such a thing?! Well...I don't admit to there being much logic behind any of my designs, more a battle of minds between me saying to people 'wouldn't it be cool if...' them replying 'no, that's weird' to which I respond in doing said cool thing, and people eventually coming round to the idea that yes, cakes in savoury household canned items, such as beans, is a cool and tasty idea. So enjoy!

(No baked beans were harmed in the making of this cake, they were just stabbed by a large metal pointy object and consumed with sausages and chips...They're in a happier place now.)

Cake Plant!

It's finally Spring! Which means things are growing, and that includes cakes...
Behold the rare and beautiful plant rumoured to be named 'Cake Plant'. Some experts say it grows from a special type of edible earth, whilst others just say it's chocolate cake...The fact is, it's a cake...that looks like a plant, what more could you want!

The Picnic Part 3: Cocktail Sausages!

A Picnic isn't a true picnic without lots of things on sticks. Somehow, eating your dinner in stick form at home seems bizarre and almost savage like, yet out in the wild (your back garden) somehow eating off bits of sharp wood seems totally civilised, dainty even eating little bites off a stick. But beware, the stick lures you in to a false sense of security having you believe you have 'only eaten a couple of sticks' when before you know it you're surrounded by a small forest of sticks and feeling horrendously sick. But don't worry, it was only a small bite on a stick right? So 50 sticks of sausages is really just 2 big sausages...ahem.

Anyway! Back to my Picnic that isn't really a picnic, I present to you the essential Picnic Cocktail Sausages! That are really Dark Chocolate and Orange truffles:

And my trio of little picnic bits; The Cheese, The Scotch Egg and The Sausage.
